BIO

Rebekah Gilbert has been sharing her thought-provoking truths through songs, poetry, and prose since 2009. Her writing style compels readers to consider their own stories, and her intimate vocals invite listeners to journey with her through song.

Her musical style falls within the Americana genre and has been compared to Patty Griffin’s confessional lyrics; Norah Jones's soothing, moody vocals; and Brandi Carlile’s soulful, emotive delivery.

Rebekah lives in Birmingham, AL, traveling to Nashville several times each month to write and perform. In addition, she recorded her most recent EP in Nashville at The Couch Room. She performs both cover songs and originals locally and regionally, and is currently expanding to national venues. Rebekah has also hosted music events, including open mic night.

Gilbert has a passion for encouraging late bloomers to chase their dreams. She frequently shares her own story of reaching goals and fulfilling dreams later in life.

Her first poetry book, Poems from the Back Pew: A Journey from Faith to Doubt and Beyond, is now available in the Shop or through Amazon. The companion five-song EP, Year of Jubilee, is available on all streaming platforms. The poetry collection and EP recount her experience of dismantling her evangelical belief system and finding freedom through her own personal revolution.
